I had an idea a couple month. I didn’t worked out all the details yet or even worked out whether it was actually a good idea. But I have been speaking to a friend of mine who runs a winery in the Barossa Valley in SA.

I told him I was worried about our design community and wondering how we are going to support ourselves and our families over the coming months. 

The idea is simple. Designers/ illustrators/copywriters who are out of work design wine labels for wine bottles to sell online. Each artist receives a fee for every bottle sold.

You will enjoy great wines at reasonable price and support people who are not working 

It would be great if those in our industry lucky enough to be still working would support this initiative and buy the wine to help their struggling colleagues. They can enjoy a good bottle of wine with an amazing artwork from an industry friend. The bottles may even become collectors items from this crazy time.

I am organising the artwork to be printed and sent to the winery for distribution.

To be transparent I would also receive a fee on bottles sold for my time and to cover printing since I have also lost all my income from the shutdown. 

$2 from every bottle sold will be donated to creatives who have been affected by the lockdown.
